- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 8 hot dogs
- 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
- 1 cup crushed Flamin’ Hot Cheetos
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk and egg.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Insert skewers into hot dogs and dip them into the batter.
- Coat the battered hot dogs with shredded cheese.
- Roll the cheese-coated hot dogs in crushed Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the corn dogs until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove and drain on paper towels before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add spices to the batter.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
- Ensure the oil is hot enough to avoid soggy corn dogs.
