These restaurant-style cardamom cinnamon sugar brioche buns are soft, fluffy, and irresistibly delicious, perfect for breakfast or as a sweet treat.

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk, warmed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 tsp ground cardamom
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup sugar (for topping)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cardamom, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture, softened butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal portions. Shape each portion into a bun.
- Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon for the topping. Sprinkle it over the buns.
- Let the buns rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a glaze made of powdered sugar and milk on top of the buns after baking.
- These buns can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of cardamom and cinnamon to your taste.
