Description
A delicious and aromatic slow cooker beef biryani made with fragrant basmati rice, perfect for Ramadan.
Ingredients

- 2 lbs beef, cut into chunks
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup cooking oil
- 2 teaspoons biryani masala
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro and mint for garnish
- 4 cups water
Instructions
- In a slow cooker, heat the oil and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add garlic, ginger, and sauté for another minute.
- Add the beef chunks and cook until browned on all sides.
- Stir in the tomatoes, yogurt, biryani masala, turmeric, cumin, coriander, and salt.
- Add the water and mix well. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the beef is tender.
- Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Once the beef is cooked, add the rinsed rice to the slow cooker and gently mix.
- Cover and cook on high for an additional 1-2 hours or until the rice is cooked and fluffy.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and mint before serving.
Notes
- For best results, marinate the beef in yogurt and spices overnight.
- Adjust the spices according to your taste preference.
- Serve with raita or salad for a complete meal.
