Description
A delicious and healthy recipe for chicken shawarma bowls made in an air fryer, perfect for Ramadan.

- 1 lb chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 2 tsp ground paprika
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups mixed greens
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cucumber, diced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- For garlic sauce: 1/2 cup plain yogurt, 2 cloves garlic (minced), 1 tbsp lemon juice, salt to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, cumin, paprika, turmeric, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add chicken thighs to the marinade and coat well. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the marinated chicken in the air fryer basket and cook for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until cooked through.
- While the chicken is cooking, prepare the garlic sauce by mixing yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt in a small bowl.
- Once the chicken is done, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into strips.
- Assemble the bowls by placing mixed greens at the bottom, followed by sliced chicken, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and parsley.
- Drizzle garlic sauce over the top and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, let the chicken marinate overnight.
- Feel free to add other toppings like avocado or feta cheese.
- This recipe can be easily doubled for larger gatherings.
