Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, cardamom, salt, and sugar.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, applesauce, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
  4. Fold in the diced apples gently.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Using a small cookie scoop, drop the batter into the air fryer basket, leaving space between each donut hole.
  7. Air fry for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. While the donut holes are cooling, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  9. Dip each donut hole into the glaze and let it set on a wire rack.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket.
  • Adjust the amount of cardamom according to your taste preference.
  • These donut holes are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a few days.
